Kim Dao, the Australian Tokyo settled blogger, vlogger and youtuber has visited more places than you and I have, and it’s no surprise that she obviously has a lot to say about her experiences. With experiences from as early as 2011, Kim Dao travel blogs cover a variety of places she’s been to including Korea, France and obviously, Japan and Australia.
Each of her blog posts have a set pattern and yet, are unique in their own way, owing to either the length she writes (based on her interpretation of the readers’ interests and feedback) or the place she chooses to blog about.
Her articles, for the most part, are picture heavy (as she puts it), and God, are they so. Detailed, clear shots of all the tourist attractions, the specialty food, and quite a few pictures of Kim herself, make their way into the blog, effectively ensuring that the blog is not just a 600-word essay that people might doze off while reading.
Generally, what you might find while reading blogs is that each writer has a way of connecting with readers, and Kim’s calling when it comes to connecting with us, is her sense of finding something funny that happens in her everyday life, thus not alienating us, readers. Also, some posts of hers are just occurrences of daily life that could occur to you or me, and that is one thing that adds a personalized touch to her blog.
Also, when looking at the timeline of her blogs and the quality of them all, over time, we can easily find the writer that’s developed in her over the course of time. Initially, her blogs looked more like diary entries, but with the passage of years, as already mentioned, the writer in her has come a long way too.
Also, a quick look through her posts bring to light that of late, Kim’s been reviewing makeup products (Korean, Japanese, you name ‘em, she’s probably reviewed them) more than she’s been writing about her travels to various parts of the world. The reason as she’s put up on the website is her assumption that it bores us readers (Maybe, maybe not).
In short, her writing and her photographs are enticing enough to make us want to visit the places she’s been to, and to try out the cosmetics she’s reviewed, irrespective of the time the bogs were written in.
