Life

In life, every person goes through many stages and phases. When we are new-born infants our parents take utmost care of our well-being and leave no stone unturned when it comes to making sure we are comfortable when sleep at night. As we grow up, they pamper us and cater to every single whim of ours. We then move from schools to colleges and finally complete our education in different streams. It is at this time when we become responsible men/women. The road ahead is full of internships, job applications and finally a stable job. The next step in life after all this investment of time, effort and money is to find the right partner to live your entire life with. Our parents are anxious as well as excited about this prospect as a new member will be joining the family. They can finally plan a so called ‘big-fat wedding’ for which they have been waiting for ever since we completed our education. More often than not our dear guardian angels would have saved plenty of money to splurge on our weddings. This has led to the advent of numerous wedding packages (for example, check out this Gatlinburg wedding packages for two) from wedding planners that come with various options for people to choose from to make the auspicious day even more special and novel.

Marriages can be very tricky. We enter a phase in our lives where there is little or no margin for error. There are people who dread the thought of taking up the responsibility to start a family and then there are people who are optimistically waiting for the next big surprise that life has to offer them. It is a life-changing decision to choose your partner. The marriage can be arranged by your parents when they search for the perfect match for you or as it happens usually, we find our ‘soul-mates’ ourselves. We never know where or when we will meet the person who we are going to grow old with. It could be absolutely serendipitous that we are present at the right place, at the right time and we meet him/her. From that moment on we lead our lives for that person. We automatically assume responsibility for their safety.

Sharing our life with another person requires patience. We must make adjustments to many attributes of our lives. A marriage is all about making space for the other person and sometimes even taking a step back to let them run the show. There are a lot of sacrifices that one needs to make along the way but that will only make the people involved stronger. We get used to sharing the workload and invariably become very disciplined. Life is like a very long voyage, why travel alone? It is on the day of the wedding that a boy completes his metamorphosis into a man and a girl transforms into an intrepid woman. Choosing your better half is not as simple as tossing a coin so choose wisely.
